  Liz Reimer

  Manager

  Liz Reimer has worked at Premier Equine as a veterinary assistant and practice manager since March 2011. She has been riding and actively competing Saddlebreds since age 7. She has a compassionate sole and lover of horses. She is a key role in Premier Equine and help in providing the excellent customer care that our clients and patient have come to expect.

  Dr. Alison Powers

  DVM CVSMT

  Dr. Alison Powers earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 from Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She was one of two chosen from her class to work intimately with renowned veterinary surgeons and internists throughout her veterinary training. She completed a one-year internship at Purdue University, College of Veterinary Medicine in equine medicine, surgery, ambulatory medicine and emergency and critical care. She enjoys performing surgical procedures, sports medicine/lameness and intensive medical cases. She completed an intensive training in animal chiropractics at The Healing Oasis in 2014. Dr. Powers strives to offer new procedures, medicines and diagnostics to achieve aggressive results for equine patients and clients. Dr. Powers grew up in northwest Illinois and developed a love for horses at a very young age. She trained and cared for her own horses and experienced multiple equestrian disciplines. Memberships include American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Association of Equine Practioners (AAEP), and College of American Animal Chiropractors (COAC).

  Dr. Mary Huerter

  DVM

  Dr. Mary E. Huerter graduated from Iowa State University in May 2016 and then completed a one year equine internship at the renowned Anoka Equine Veterinary Services in Elk River, Minn. Mary has a diverse background working as an archaeologist, a journalist, a horse trainer, and a riding instructor. Her equine experiences include competing extensively in eventing including two summers as a working student in Pennsylvania and completing a long-format three-day event at the one-star level. Mary’s professional interests include lameness evaluation, sports medicine, dentistry, and ophthalmology. When not working, Dr. Mary enjoys spending time with her horse, Scooter, her dog, Bridget, her boyfriend, Craig, and her nieces and nephews. She loves to hike, camp, backpack, bike, read, and flint knap. Dr. Mary is very excited to join Premier Equine, and is looking forward to meeting her new clients and patients.
